Warwick TECH’s Hackathon is its biggest annual event spanning over 48 hours. Many sponsors, including MLH were in attendance. Around 60 or so students registered and formed team to compete for several prizes, ranging from external hard drives, headphones and other goods.
Like any hackathon, the food was plentiful and delicious. Over 6 meals were covered and heaps of snacks were available throughout the day. No doubt it was quite the feast for 2 straight days.
Throughout the hackathons, there were simultaneous workshops running. Topics covered design to drone racing. In the instance of drone racing, a live demo was brought and the pilot controlled the flight via live feed of the camera mounted on the drone. Pretty cool stuff.
This was the drone, it was small enough to fit in your palm, and the video was projected live to the TV where the pilot was controlling it.
