We recently launched our Facebook account to reach more students for events – for those unaware: We post free food events that are happening on campus at McMaster (some are open to public, others are invite only) so attend at your discretion.
Last year one of our founding members managed to live off $25/month for food related expenses. Clearly we’ve been steady mobbing all year – if you don’t believe, scroll through some of our older posts for credibility. We’re also planning to get a calendar going that can better organize events.
We’ve got a team at McMaster actively posting free food via Facebook, so keep your eyes peeled. We also have another on an exchange abroad at Warwick University, so check this blog for free food recaps across the pond.
Of course, we would greatly appreciate it if you guys can show some support – so send us a message when you find out about free food (whether that be leftover paradise catering events, conferences, workshops, club meetings, etc.)
Lastly, this is simply a service for students, by students. We get that money is tight and is why this was created. But show some love for the event organizers, i.e. try not to eat and leave immediately. This keeps us sustainable for the time being (if somehow 1000 students showed up to a workshop offering pizza, we’ll worry about that then… but how hilarious would that be!).
