One of my favorite forums to visit is Redflagdeals Hot Deals, as an addict for deals; I can shamelessly admit I would check up on this forum several times throughout the day.
One day, I stumbled upon this http://forums.redflagdeals.com/smoking-hot-100-off-100-orbitz-hotel-booking-1616691/. Orbitz, a travel-booking agency, offered $100 off a minimum $100 booking of any hotel. All you had to do was pay via VISA checkout (looks like a new competitor to PayPal). Registration with that service took under 5 min.
It was such a hot deal that the thread was growing in pages as I was reading through it. I pulled the trigger ASAP, and managed to book a room in downtown Toronto for a measly $20! It was the right call – within a few hours of posting, the deal completely sold out.
If you read through, people went insane and started booking rooms and planned for vacations months in advance. One lady was organizing a conference, and created multiple accounts to pay for attendees’ accommodations. She managed to save hundreds of $ from the conference budget! Well done!
This was the booking information for me, I paid out of pocket only $19.57, which equated to around $23 CAN. Paid for with my Marriott VISA so I didn’t get charged for additional exchange rates.
