See the groceries! I surprised myself with this figure, Basically I am living off $0.70 a day.
I traveled a lot from home to school, which contributes to the high transportation costs. But I rideshare all the trips, which is significantly less expensive than train or bus. A 1 way rideshare is $35-45 compare to bus at $70 and train at $100.
Clothing is my main weakness, I have expensive tastes. During black friday I saw a deal I couldn’t pass up – Maison Martin Margiela GATS for $226 all in, compare with retail at $500+. I also bought a pair of leather gloves for $70 after 50% discount. By taking advantages of deals, I greatly enhance the purchasing power of my money.
My “side job” simply consists of income separate from my primary income. Usually, its from selling clothes, etc. on Kijiji, taking advantage of bank and credit card promos, or various gifts/government credits.
