The MSU campaign was coming to a close, and tonight featured the all candidates pub night in 1280. Students were invited to a “get to know your president” type event. It was a meet and greet, then all candidates got in front of the mic for a casual QA session.
To attract attendees, free pub food was served. There were nachos, cheese sticks, spring rolls and various other greasy, deep fried foods. The wait staff served them all at once, which were promptly cleared out by the 50 or so hungry students.
Perhaps if they staggered food servings, people that came later would get some food, and would be distributed more evenly.
Around that time, my friend in engineering texted me about a networking night that just ended. There was loads of free food leftover in University hall. We walked right in, no questions asked, and helped ourselves to generous servings of shrimp, sandwiches and desserts.
All in all, a great night.
