The indigenous studies hosted a final end of year party for everyone to attend. Like all the previous events it runs, food and entertainment is always excellent. No RSVP required.
Upon entrance, everyone was given a ticket for raffles later on in night. A small gift bag was to be won, filled with a shirt and a few pens. Then, a large dance floor was converted, as the audience was encouraged to join in the traditional indigenous dance.
Food was served promptly: traditional sandwiches and soup were served. The best I can describe it is likening it to a Montreal smoked meat sandwich. A plate of desserts of cake topped with whipped cream and fruit were also available.
People filtered in and out throughout the night. These events are always great because of the low commitment, meaning you didn’t have to stay for a long presentation to eat, and no offense was taken if you were simply there for the food.
