As an initiative to help alleviate some stress for busy students during exam time, the school sponsors the on-campus restaurant to give away free wraps. A large area was cleared out, and 4 large tables were lined up akin to a buffet line. Workers piled on trays full of wraps. There were cajun chicken, ham and cheese, beef, or vegetable options. The wraps were very delicious and the size is comparable to a footlong Subway. Fruits such as bananas, apples and oranges were also provided, as well as soft drinks.
The first 15 minutes was pandemonium: students were ecstatic at the sight of all the free food and rushed the line. It was 3 workers vs. 50 students. The students all got away with 3/4 wraps each before the workers realized they needed to maintain order. During the next batch of people, the workers limited each student to only 1 wrap. But by then, the majority of students had left. I stayed around the back with my friend and periodically came up to the buffet line for more. Total time commitment was around 40min.
I am posing proudly behind my loot.
In total, between my roommate and I, we managed to bring home over 25 wraps and several fruits. That’s not counting the 10 or so wraps we ate there. Based on a modest estimate of $4/wrap, our total haul is valued at $140!
