When I checked out the website of the university entrepreneurship organization, I noticed they are hosting events each week all through the month. And each event offered loads of free food!
Tonight featured “The Top 36”, one of Canada’s largest entrepreneurship competitions. Several exec members delivered a presentation on what it is and how to get involved. Basically you apply to participate in this program, and upon acceptance, you are paired with other people to pitch a new product your team has been working on. The winning team receives a grand prize – typically thousands of dollars or a brand new car.
These events are all geared towards engineering or business students – and that’s to be expected. Shame there is nothing for us peasant science students.
This event drew out a decent crowd, given the small venue.
Wow, look at all that food no one is touching!
There was more than enough food, as the waiters kept bringing refills. I was quite famished that day, and ate over 4 servings. One must always consume his/her monies worth at these events.
