A young Asians entrepreneurs info session was held in my city, supporting students studying abroad in Canada. It was held in the home of the government official organizer, where 30+ students and several speakers attended.
We started off the night with an introduction to the session: students are encouraged to write up a promising business plan for proposal to the organizers. The eligible teams would be given an all expense paid trip to China to meet with potential investors and fellow entrepreneurs. Based on the numbers from previous years, around 70% of submitted proposals were granted the trip! Not bad!
We heard testimonials from previous applicants, and various organizers praising the value and excitement of this project. Afterwards, a takeout buffet was served for everyone. The food was excellent; we had real Chinese food, not the typical westernized takeout food.
