The humanities association, with the school, organized a networking breakfast for students to meet professionals in HR (human resources). About 15-20 students attended, quite a low turnout for the money and effort spend in organizing this event.
We started off with a continental breakfast, transitioning to a panel talk. 4 professionals spoke how they got where they are now, and advice for students. Funnily, all 4 HR professionals had no intention of going into HR, everyone worked a series of odd jobs and ended up heading up HR for a company. Next, we began a roundtable discussion: the panelist sat at a table while groups of students had 15 min to chat with them on a closer level.
