That evening, our entrepreneurship club hosted the CEO of ZooShare, a green energy company to talk about startups. His company was actually quite large, securing millions in venture capital and currently employs several people already. Basically, they collect all the fecal matter animals produce in a zoo, and convert it into energy.
The presentation itself was quite dull; there was too much numbers, %, and irrelevant figures thrown at us (of course, I would be interested if I was an angel investor).
From all the events and presentations I have been to, the speakers that capture the audience the most, do so by telling a personal story. They weave it into their pitch and tells something relatable to the audience. Simply stating facts and throwing around technical jargon bore the crowd real fast.
