This was actually a pleasant surprise – I stumbled across this event when I was looking for quiet place to study. I stopped by our faculty hall and restaurant, when I noticed lots of students and some Profs congregating around a buffet table. Not knowing what the event was, I confidently strolled up to the registration table and played it off. It was a “meet the prof” night for Chemical Biology students.
For a good 30 minutes I was mingling with “peers” and professors, engaged in their conversation and research. I noticed over the year – my confidence really grew by attending all these free food events. You can’t appear nervous or else people will immediately notice you don’t belong. Simply put, you have to fake it till you make it.
