Today was a special day. My friends and I were steeped in anticipation for today, all week long. From last year’s haul – we netted over $100 easy in goods. We had high hope this year. The official start time was slated at 10am, so my friend and I arrived the customary 15 min early.
The main attraction was Toronto Star, the local newspaper company. They would simply dump all their free samples on a table and let students reign free. The vendors didn’t mind – even encouraged students to take multiple bags. This time, had a redbull, perfume, coupons, granola bar, and gum.
Shoppers Drug Mart was another good one – a reusable bag filled with perfumes, shampoos, facial cleanser, shaving cream, granola bar, chips and chocolate. The vendors tried to make each person sign for an optimum card/pitch a sale before students got a hold of the bag. The lineup quickly stretches around yard, but cutting in line and overall chaos overwhelmed the employees.
Fortinos had the best free samples – they offered a reusable grocery bag filled with Uncle Ben’s rice and curry, fancy granola bars, chips, and Powerade.
Some miscellaneous other goods I got were a CIBC tablet case, Airmiles tumbler, preworkout, TD headphones, 35 x Jugo Juice coupons (valued $8 each for a free cup)
