Waterloo Debating Competition

My roommate asked me to help out with a tournament he was running. His club covered my registration and transportation fees. The tournament was held in a neighboring university. The first night there, we were fed pizza. At least 50 boxes were ordered, so more than enough was there. The quality was average but I had fasted all day in anticipation of the amount of food I was expecting to consume this weekend. I had around 10 slices before waving the white flag.

I was informed, much to my delight, that all 3 meals would also be covered today. Breakfast was assorted muffins, doughnuts, croissants, pastries and fruits. Accompanied by the usual coffee, fruit juices and tea. I restrained myself from gorging on the cheap carbs, knowing better food would be served at lunch and dinner. For lunch, we had boxed curry and rice. I only had 1 box, but bagged 2 more to bring back home. The dinner was the real deal – held in a hotel, the staff catered the food. We had pulled pork, BBQ chicken, roast beef with mac and cheese, salad and lasagna.

This weekend was fantastic – a marathon of gluttony and freeloader’s paradise.
